The Brookline Arts Center offers a creative and intimate venue for private events inside its charming converted firehouse in Brookline, MA. Perfect for birthdays, team gatherings, or art-inspired celebrations, the space features Studio 1 — a flexible room that accommodates up to 30 seated or 50 standing guests — complete with tables, chairs, and WiFi. Guests are welcome to bring their own catering, décor, and entertainment, making it easy to personalize the experience. Our space can be used for, but is not limited to, the following: small weddings, photoshoots, bridal showers, baby showers, filming, listening events, book signings, and more. We also offer art-parties for kids, which you can select as an add-on and includes activities and a facilitator. Catering

In-house catering not available

External catering allowed

  • Caterers that have not worked an event at the BAC in the past two years must provide a catering license to BAC and meet with the BAC staff at least two weeks prior to the event for a walk-through of the space.

Alcohol

Alcohol is permitted

BYOB allowed

  • With the exception of political or 501-C3 fundraisers, no alcoholic beverages may be sold, and no admission fee to an event with alcohol may be charged.
  • For free events, the state of Massachusetts requires that you contact the Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission. No alcohol may be served to guests younger than 21 years of age. Proof of a one-time permit must be submitted to BAC one week prior to the event. Any caterers with an alcohol license must provide proof of this license to BAC one week prior to the event.

  • For art parties with children under 18, two guardians must be present.

House Rules

  • The renter is responsible for supplying food and beverages for their event, any audio or AV equipment necessary, tablecloths, table settings, decorations and all event planning, coordination and marketing.
  • Guests can come in 30mins before their event booking time for setup, and are allowed 30mins after the event time ends for cleanup.
